Our commitment to diversity and inclusion

At SES Engineering Services (SES) we believe business can be a powerful force for good. That starts by being a business where everyone is welcomed, included and connected; a business where we look out for each other; a safe place in which everyone can be themselves.

That’s what we mean by #SESTogether.

A more inclusive and even better business; better for all of us, including our stakeholders and our partners; where we more accurately reflect the diverse communities we serve.

A business where everyone is treated fairly and gets the chance to contribute and make progress; where innovation and ideas are encouraged as we always look to find a better way.

A great place to work where the health and happiness of our people is paramount; where performance is recognised and differences are celebrated.

“The entire built environment sector needs to change to become more representative of the society we serve.  We want a role in leading that change.”

Our plan

Our long-term plan commits us to reviewing our parental leave and flexible working policies, improving the gender pay gap and collaborating across industry to help drive sector-wide change.  It is driven by four strategic priorities:

  • Encouraging bold leadership
  • Increasing awareness through education
  • Involving everyone
  • Embedding inclusion into everything we do.

Ambition

By 2025, our ambition is to have a workforce that more accurately reflects society – meaning that as a Group, we will have 60% male; 40% female across all levels of the business; 20% BAME representation; 5% LGBTQ and 3% with a disability.

“For me, an inclusive workplace is where we feel our individuality is cherished and we can be confident to bring our whole self to work.”
