BRITISH SAFETY COUNCIL INTERNATIONAL SAFETY AWARD 2020
For the 24th consecutive year, SES has won an International Safety Award with a Pass from the British Safety Council in recognition of its commitment to keeping its workers and workplaces healthy and safe during the 2019 calendar year. SES is one of 172 organisations to win a Pass in the 2020 International Safety Awards.
ROSPA AWARDS 2020 – GOLD AND SILVER
SES is celebrating after landing internationally-recognised awards for demonstrating high health and safety standards. The London & South East and Midlands & South West regions have received a Gold RoSPA Health and Safety Award for working hard to ensure its staff, customers and supply chain get home safely to their families at the end of every working day. Prism Office Manufacturing based in Coventry also received a Silver RoSPA Award.
2ND ANNUAL SOCIETY OF DIGITAL ENGINEERING AWARDS 2019 - BEST CONTRACTOR
SES was announced the winners in the ‘Best Contractor’ category at the 2nd Society of Digital Engineering Awards 2019. These awards are in recognition of innovation, leadership and best practice in the discipline of digital engineering.
RISE AWARDS 2019 - COLLABORATIVE WORKING (GSK) AND ENTERPRISE AWARDS (YORK COMMUNITY STADIUM)
SES celebrated winning two awards at this year’s RISE Awards 2019. Collaborative Working for GlaxoSmithKline’s Q-Block (Aseptic Manufacturing Facility) and the Enterprise Award for York Community Stadium.
SES also achieved three Highly Commended Awards for GlaxoSmithKline Q-Block (Aseptic Manufacturing Facility) and the Quadram Institute in the Field and Laboratory Research category and the Health Safety and Wellbeing category.
CONSTRUCTING EXCELLENCE IN THE NORTH EAST AWARDS 2019 - OFFSITE PROJECT OF THE YEAR
SES was announced the winners in the Project of the Year category at the Constructing Excellence in the North East Awards 2019. This latest accolade was awarded to SES in recognition of the work it has done, along with project partner BakerHicks on a prestigious £94m Aseptic Manufacturing Facility in Barnard Castle, Durham, for global pharmaceutical company, GSK. SES’ North East office will represent the region at Constructing Excellence’s national finals which will take place in London in November 2019.
OFFSITE AWARDS 2019 - BEST USE OF MEP & POD TECHNOLOGY
For the fourth consecutive year, SES was the overall winners in the Best Use of MEP & Pod Technology category, this year for global healthcare company GSK’s aseptic manufacturing facility, Q Block. A world-leading, state-of-the-art £94m facility based in County Durham.

For the 23rd consecutive year, SES has once again been awarded the British Safety Council’s International Safety Award – this year with a Merit! The award demonstrates SES’ commitment to the health, safety and wellbeing of their workers and workplaces during 2018.
CIBSE YORKSHIRE AWARDS 2018 – COLLABORATIVE WORKING
SES was announced the winners in the Collaborative Working category at the CIBSE Yorkshire Awards 2018. SES was presented with the award for their collaborative approach taken on the School of Chemical and Process Engineering – a multi-million pound refurbishment at the University of Leeds.
RISE AWARDS 2018 – HERITAGE AWARD FOR RESTORATION OR RETROFIT
SES was announced winners of the Heritage Award for Restoration or Retrofit category at the RISE Awards 2018 for the Vita Student Village York. The Vita Student Village project is a £48m scheme to deliver 660 high-end student residences within the grounds of the former Grade-II listed St. Joseph’s Convent in York.
CONSTRUCTION NEWS SPECIALIST AWARDS 2018 - PROJECT OF THE YEAR (SUBCONTRACT OVER £6M)
SES was victorious at the Construction News Specialist Awards 2018 in the Project of the Year (subcontract over £6m) category for the Queensferry Crossing, the biggest infrastructure project in Scottish history.
CONSTRUCTION NEWS AWARDS 2018 - SPECIALIST CONTRACTOR OF THE YEAR - HIGHLY COMMENDED
SES was highly commended in the Specialist Contractor of the Year category at this year’s Construction News Awards. The judges commented that this was a particularly challenging category to call. Demonstrating industry-leading performance on several levels, SES was praised for not only providing a strong example for others to follow but also rolling out impressive innovations. These included a pioneering mental health programme to improve employee wellbeing, as well as a ground-breaking mobile app to assist health and safety reporting. Its various efforts led judges to label SES as an “inspirational” company in its field.

For the third consecutive year SES was the overall winners in the Best Use of MEP & Pod Technology category, this year for the Quadram Institute, a state-of-the-art £75m food and health research laboratory project in Norwich.

OFFSITE AWARDS 2017 - BEST USE OF MEP PREFABRICATION
SES was (for the second year) the overall winners in the Best Use of MEP Prefabrication category at the 2017 Offsite Awards. This year for the London Gasholders project, a unique project which houses 145 luxury apartments, which is a series of three linked new build cylindrical structures, each housed within the constraints of the cast-iron Victorian listed gasholder rings that were used to form part of the largest gas works in London.
ECA AWARDS 2017 - BEST HEALTH & SAFETY INITIATIVE AWARD
SES was presented with the Best Health & Safety Initiative Award at the ECA Annual Awards 2017 for our outstanding health and safety record, Going Live initiative and hugely impactful campaign around We’re Safer Together – Zero Harm.
RISE AWARDS 2017 - WINNER OF THE CHAIR'S AWARD
Hosted by the Leeds Sustainability Institute, The RISE Awards reward the most pioneering initiatives in research, innovation, sustainability and enterprise (RISE). SES was highly commended in the Health, Safety and Wellbeing category and, as the overall winner, for the University of Leeds – School of Chemical and Process Engineering was presented with the main accolade of the evening, the prestigious Chair’s Award.
