Early Careers

We offer opportunities to develop your skills, gain industry experience and progress your career.
Our structured two-year graduate trainee programme will enable you to build the foundations you need to progress in your career. You will receive a bespoke development plan, industry-recognised qualifications, and mentoring support throughout your time with us.
After successfully completing your programme, you’ll move into the next stage of your career in an assistant manager-level role.

Rob Clifford’s journey began as an apprentice electrician. Today, he leads SES as Executive Managing Director.
Leaving school at 16, Rob started his career through an electrical apprenticeship, gaining hands-on experience on site and developing his skills through a variety of operational and leadership roles.
Over the course of his career, he progressed from apprentice to supervisor, site manager, project manager and operations director before becoming Executive Managing Director of SES.
Reflecting on his journey, Rob believes his experience on site continues to shape his leadership style today, helping him understand the challenges teams face and the importance of creating opportunities for others to succeed.
His story is a reminder that careers rarely follow a straight line. With hard work, continuous learning and the right support, where you start doesn’t define where you can go.
