Building change together
We want construction and engineering to be an industry where everyone can see an opportunity to build a rewarding career. With this in mind, we’ve partnered with Design and Build UK for the past three years, to support its work to improve opportunities for women across the industry.
Led by Michaela Wain, Design and Build UK works to inspire girls to consider careers in construction while also supporting and retaining women already working in the industry, from grassroots through to board level.
For us, the partnership is about creating opportunities, nurturing talent and helping to build a more inclusive industry. It’s also about encouraging male allyship and recognising that creating lasting change is something we all have a role in.
Our partnership with Design and Build UK is about creating meaningful change. We want more women to see the opportunities our industry can offer, but equally, we want women already working in construction to have the support and opportunity to develop and thrive. Male allyship is an important part of that. Lasting change only happens when we all play our part.”

National ambition, regional action
Through our partnership with Design & Build UK, we’re proud to support the Women In Construction Hub, bringing together people from across construction and the wider built environment to connect, share knowledge and champion greater inclusion across the industry.
Our Customer Marketing Manager, Shivani Parmar, sits on the South East regional committee, helping to support the hub’s work to strengthen industry connections, create opportunities for professional development and encourage more women to build and progress their careers in construction.
