Delivering smart, sustainable student living
SES Engineering Services was appointed by Galliford Try to deliver full MEP services for Godiva Place—a 770-bed student accommodation hub developed by Regents (Godiva) Ltd for Coventry University. Located on a brownfield site in Coventry city centre, the scheme comprises five linked blocks ranging from six to eight storeys, with communal spaces including a reception, social areas, and laundries.
SES provided a comprehensive range of services including heating, ventilation, drainage, domestic water, lift safety, fire safety, security systems, and energy-efficient lighting. The project was delivered using BIM Level 2 and SES’ market-leading digital engineering expertise, ensuring seamless coordination and programme efficiency.
A key aspect of the project was a below-ground BIM exercise that coordinated rainwater and foul drainage, tower crane locations, filtration mats, and access points—allowing external services to be installed without delaying the main build.
Offsite manufacturing played a vital role, with SES’ Prism facility and supply chain partners producing 925 2D pipe modules and six major plant skids, helping maintain programme and reduce on-site labour.
