Project at a glance

SES Engineering Services partnered with Willmott Dixon to deliver a state-of-the-art headquarters for Lancashire Constabulary’s West Division in Blackpool—marking the force’s largest investment in its history.

Working to BIM Level 2, SES installed a full suite of building services including lighting, photovoltaic systems, building management systems, power distribution, and rainwater drainage. The energy-efficient 8,500 sqm facility is designed to achieve a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating and provides contemporary office space, a 42-cell custody suite, and operational bases for neighbourhood policing, response teams, and investigations.

The custody suite features a semi-circular precast concrete design, with a central desk offering full visibility down each cell corridor—enhancing safety and operational efficiency.

SES delivered comprehensive MEP systems to support the building’s diverse functions, from office operations to secure custody environments.

The radial layout ensures optimal visibility and control, improving safety for officers and detainees.

Designed to meet BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standards, the facility incorporates sustainable technologies and efficient systems throughout.

Replacing the outdated Bonny Street base, the new headquarters serves Blackpool, Fylde, Wyre, Lancaster, and Morecambe and further strengthening policing across Lancashire’s West Division.
