Creating a modern hub for education and public services
SES Engineering Services was appointed by principal contractor Robertson to deliver the full building services package for Phase Two of Vision Tameside—a transformative city centre development designed to bring together advanced skills education and joint public services under one roof.
The new eight-storey, 15,150 sqm mixed-use building replaces TMBC’s former offices and is sensitively designed to sit alongside the listed Ashton Town Hall and historic Water Board offices. It includes 6,000 sqm of office and administration space for TMBC, 7,000 sqm of education space for Tameside College, and 1,150 sqm of retail space, now occupied by Wilko.
Designed to meet BREEAM ‘Very Good’, the building is approximately half the size of the council’s previous headquarters, offering a more cost-effective, energy-efficient, and accessible facility for the local community.
