Following an extensive feasibility study and supplier interviews throughout 2009, we launched a unique “single source” initiative for all our commodity products in August. This has helped simplify and streamline all our buying processes and enables us to have an in-depth understanding of our key suppliers; product standardisation and integration of IT systems.
We've entered into this supplier agreeement with two companies:
BSS (UK) Ltd - for all Mechanical products
Newey & Eyre - for all Electrical products
This has resulted in improved reliability, continuity and consistency of service whilst encouraging innovation and openness. Importantly, we’re starting to see enhanced cost savings, quality of service and some true efficiencies and added value from embarking on this course of action.
