SES was selected to undertake the design and installation of the mechanical, electrical and public health services to the new HSL Estates Rationalisation at Buxton.

Located on the outskirts of Buxton, the new facility covers a gross internal floor area of approximately 22,000m2. It is a collection of two and three-storey linked buildings housing several different functions.

The state-of-the-art facility comprises corporate offices, analytical laboratories, contained experimental laboratories and engineering test facilities, which enable HSL to maintain it's position at the forefront of research into workplace accidents and work related diseases.

The SES contract involved the installation and commissioning of all the associated heating and ventilation, air conditioning, laboratory gases, fume cupboards, specialist facilities, hydraulic systems, lifts, security systems, fire alarms and all electrical installations.

The contract was procured under the Private Finance Initiative (PFI).
