SES has been selected to complete the installation of pipe water services, as part of a £70m refurbishment of Royal Festival Hall.
As a 50-year old building, asbestos was the most commonly-used fire protection material, so prior to any installation work by SES, the Hall is undergoing a massive asbestos removal programme. There is also a significant amount of investigative work needed to understand the current network of piping within the many small rooms and corridors that lay under the Hall.
The South Bank centre, and specifically Royal Festival Hall, is undergoing an extensive transformation to bring the facilities in line with the world's greatest concert halls. The SES contract specifically relates to the piped water services, which includes heating, chilled water, domestic hot and cold water, and the soil and vent system.
The project is due for completion in Spring 2007.
