SES was selected to design and install the mechanical and electrical
building services for the prestigious new Nuffield Hospital, situated in the
heart of Leeds city centre.
Once completed it will be one of the most technically advanced independent
facilities in Europe, housing six fully equipped operating theatres, eight
intensive care beds, a ten-bed day care unit and 70 private in-patient beds.
There will also be dedicated areas for heart and minimally invasive (keyhole)
surgery, woman’s health, health screening, sports injuries, medicine and
plastic surgery.
The SES contract included high and low voltage power supply with UPS and
IPS facilities, domestic services, fire protection, security, air conditioning,
luminaries, communications and data systems. It also comprised the
design and installation of state-of-the-art ultra clean theatres and the
specialist installation of medical gas pipe networks and autoclave sterilization
facilities.
