By employing SES to design and install the full mechanical & electrical services to the new five-storey Chemical Engineering Block at the University of Bath, the company was able to provide buildability and ensure that optimum design solutions were incorporated into the project.

Working under a joint partnering agreement with the University and the main contractor for the project Shepherd Construction Ltd. SES installed state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, giving the building a first-class environment for the advancement in chemical engineering research.

SES work included steam and condensate services to pilot rigs and laboratories. Specialist laboratory services included compressed air and medical gases to fume cupboards. Heating for the building was by a constant and variable LTHW system via a heat exchanger supplied with MTHW from the main University boiler house.

SES also installed the complex data systems which run throughout the building, including a complete data and computer suite on level 3.
