SES

SES was commissioned to design, build and install all the mechanical and electrical services for the new Norfolk Constabulary Operations and Communications Centre in Wymondham.

The development comprises five separate buildings consisting of an operations & communication centre, vehicle maintenance centre, firing range,overnight accommodation block and a forensic science block.

The centre is the first police countywide facility building to be funded through the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) scheme and is also the largest Home Office Police PFI project so far.

SES work comprised the installation of heating and ventilation systems to all buildings, public health services, power supplies and extensive internal and external illumination.

The SES contract also included the development of a predominantly naturally ventilated ‘green’ solution to the main operations building, thereby reducing the cooling and energy requirements normally associated with an extensive facility.
